workstation road case for Tigani Motorsports is a custom case assigned for Armor Cases to build. Tigani Motorsports is an Australian racing team who have competed in the GT world challenge Australia. They required a workstation case which could also house six 24-inch monitors. Since racing teams require constant travel and frequent use of data displays, the case needs to be sturdy for travel and the displays will need to be easy to access.
Hardware
The case is made of mostly P1201 12mm plywood panel as well as 9mm and 18mm panels for castor boards etc. hybrid extrusions are used for the lid edges as well as single angle 35mm extrusions for corners. The
visa mounts are compact armor 100×100 mounts which can mount most displays if
they have the standard visa mount holes. Armor Hardware such as braces are used however there were some instances where penn elcom material were used such as the castors for the customers requirements.
What Are The Features
Motorised Lift
The case resulted in a dual motorised lift unit for the displays. A two-piece plywood panel holds six visa mounts in a 2X6 configuration. Mounted on the lift, the displays can be elevated in and out of the case with wither mounted buttons or a remote control. The two panels are joined by toque hinges which allows the user to adjust the angle of which the top panel sits. This makes the case user friendly since the lift has a maximum height of 1.9m from the ground. These hinges are fixed with pins to lock vertically in transportation.
Lids and Drawers
The case is a split lid road case to allow the monitors to be lifted and access to the front of the case. Four plywood drawers are included in the case for storage as well as three center storages. The top of the workbench and the drawers are lined in EVA foam for impact resistance during transport as well as abrasion resistance purposes.
Castors and electronics
Six W9000 caster wheels are used as well as 3 braked ones for ease of transportation. Internal power distribution rack is included for monitors and motorised lift again for ease of use. These are easily accessed via a small panel access at the back.
Final Product
The final product is designed to be long lasting, protective and easily transported. This case is custom made for the appropriate use.
